The range
60 to 100 bpm is the normal adult range. Regular endurance exercise often brings it lower, sometimes into the 40s or 50s.
Measuring it well
Measure when you have been still for a while, ideally overnight or right after waking. A reading taken after coffee or a walk is not a resting rate.
When to ask a doctor
A resting rate consistently above 100, or below 60 with dizziness or fainting, is worth checking with a doctor.
How Life OS reads it
Life OS takes your resting rate from the quiet part of your night, not from a busy afternoon, and tracks it against your own normal.
Questions people ask
Is a resting heart rate of 50 good?
For a fit adult with no symptoms, often yes. If it comes with dizziness or fainting, see a doctor.
Why is my resting heart rate high?
Short sleep, alcohol, illness, stress, dehydration and caffeine all raise it.
